Life, Training, and Vision

Chiang-Hung Chen graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the National Defense University, Taiwan, in 1982. He began his career in the Ministry of National Defense’s Art Division, eventually serving as Director of the Fine Arts Work Group. Over four decades, he has forged a path as both artist and educator, preserving and renewing the poetic beauty of Traditional Chinese Ink Painting.

Chen’s flower-and-bird paintings convey symbolic meaning: peonies for prosperity, plum blossoms for resilience, and sparrows for vitality. His art has been exhibited internationally in Taiwan, the United States, New Zealand, and China, including the Taipei International Flora Exposition and Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery.

He is the recipient of the Outstanding Contribution Award at the 50th Military Literature and Arts Awards and continues to share his vision through exhibitions, publications, and mentorship.
